Declan Murphy, Owner
Dovetail Contracting owner Declan Murphy immigrated to New York City from Ireland in 2000 where he began his career renovating condos and townhouses mainly in and around the greater New York City area.
Declan began his work in construction as a Finish Carpenter focusing on restoring high-end period woodwork. He parlayed that experience into managing both residential and commercial construction projects that included framing, trim, windows, doors, and siding.
Twenty years later, Declan has managed hundreds of projects that range in a broad variety of work from foundations to exterior tasks (siding, windows, doors, roofs), as well as kitchens, bathrooms, basements, landscaping, and more.
Declan has developed a depth of knowledge from all aspects of the construction process from design, conception, material selection, techniques, tools, and equipment to quality control, cost control, and safety. Declan has worked with numerous architects and designers as well as clients of all experiences and backgrounds to make concepts a reality.
Declan holds a B.S. in Materials and Construction Technology Education from the University of Limerick located in Limerick, Ireland.
